Call me odd, but I enjoy cold, rainy weather--within reason, of course. It's a great excuse to turn on my favorite music, and bake. Sure, I'm in the kitchen a lot, but there's something comforting about those days: the soft tapping of the rain on the window; wind whooshing through the trees; the sound of my dog's snores nearby. Not to mention the rich aroma escaping from the oven while my creations are baking. Heavenly. Today is dreary. So to enhance my mood, treat the taste buds of my family, and celebrate National Bread Day, I'll be preparing the recipe below. |

A little info about me... Award-winning author (and sometimes illustrator) Debbie Roppolo grew up in the Blackland Prairie region of Texas, where miles of grassland and her horse stimulated very imaginative adventures and served as writing fodder for later years. She had to do something with those memories; having tea parties with chickens was too good to keep to herself.
