During my youth, I spent Saturday mornings in either one of my grandmothers' kitchens. My problems seemed to disappear as I assisted them in their creating, all the while listening to their childhood tales and inhaling the rich fragrance of baked goods (pumpkin or sweet potato bread) reserved for fall baking. Wonderful memories.
Now, my boys and I love long, leisurely walks through the woods on hazy weekend afternoons, enjoying the results of Nature's paintbrush. Another one of our favorite fall activities is baking on Saturday nights. It gives my boys and I a chance to reconnect even more, just like my grandmothers and I did so many years ago. Below is a recipe for Monster Eye Cookies, a Halloween themed recipe from my activity/cookbook.
