I always thought Daddy was a little, well...wrong about the latter, until I experienced certain events in later years that helped me understand what he meant. When we're faced with tragedy it's simple to curl into a ball and will the world to pass us by. At that point we become victims and sometimes gather more trials and tribulations as time progresses.
Emotional/physical healing takes time--there's no quick fix. Believing in yourself and your abilities, summon the inner warrior that stands at the ready and rally against the obstacles that life hands you. You can do anything, as long as you put your mind to it.
